Raising Money for School/Club Funds With Help from ‘Thai One On’ Thai One On receives at least five letters or calls every week for donations for raffles in order to raise money for school funds or to support a village children’s sports team etc. and of course we have to decline all but the ‘most worthy’ due to the sheer volume of requests. In the past I have occasionally put up a table for two, all food and drink donated by ourselves for an additional event at the end of a raffle prize giving. This is on the understanding that it is not involved in the raffle, rather treated as an ‘add on’ and the people at the event are asked to ‘put their hands in their pockets’ and produce a five pound note. Write their name on the note which is then collected in a ‘hat’. The fiver that is drawn from the hat wins the table for two at Thai One On, approximately £60-00 in value. And the fund gets all of the fivers. Recently we did this for a village children’s football team that was trying to raise money to support the team for the next year and this minimal ‘cost’ contribution by ourselves raised £485-00 for the fund. An excellent return I am sure you would agree! Also comfort to ourselves that our contribution has been a worthwhile effort. The purpose of this page is to make you aware that we at Thai One On are sympathetic to your cause and wish we were in a financial position to be of more help on a regular basis. I have therefore given thought to this and would like to make the following offer for your consideration. The school or club promotes an event at Thai One On, on any evening except Saturday and the occasional Friday. The evening is booked and the ‘Twenty Pound Banquet or Buffett’, by far our most popular functions in the restaurant, is promoted by the school or club to the teachers, parents or club members parents. You collect the individual twenty pounds per person prior to the event and pay us only: £15-00 per person, keeping £5-00 per person for the School or the Club Funds . A simple mathematical working out shows you that you only need to attract twenty five couples from the school or club and the fund has made £250-00. What can you make if you fill the restaurant? In addition to this we will also offer the above ‘£5-00 table for two’ raffle as described above, at the event with all the ‘Fivers’ given 100% to the fund. Don’t worry about numbers of people especially with larger schools as the restaurant can hold 100 people and if necessary the event can be held over more than one night. The organization is simple and the returns are very good for the school or club. Help can be given with recommended wording for the marketing. THIS HELPS EVERYBODY!
